Although Mama has been able to feel Baby's "Lord of the Dance" :) for quite some time now, poor Papa, up to this point, wasn't quite sure if he was feeling a stomach grumble or a baby kick. Until he made you waffles... :)
As many of you know, among his myriad of other talents, Papa (Sam) Leonardo is famous for his waffles.
He delighted Mama (and Baby!) with fresh strawberry waffles on a lovely weekend morning and within minutes of that first bite Baby Leonardo had something to "say".
This time, there was no doubt when he/she booted Papa's hand and made him jump.
A little round of applause from the uterine peanut gallery. :)
If only our little one could have seen the look of pure joy and love on his/her Papa's face with that first kick. Some day soon Papa will be smothering you with kisses and making you as many strawberry waffles as your heart desires!
Keeping with tradition we introduce our Belly Blog for Baby Leonardo #2.

Hello beautiful, beautiful baby!
No matter how many times we get to see and hear our baby we just can't get over how beautiful he/she is!!
(Can you see the smile we were getting?!)
At 18 weeks we stared lovingly at the four sections of your brain, all four heart chambers (even the papillary muscle!) all the finger bones as you waved and tried to push the camera away :) and those beautiful eyes, nose, and mouth. You leave us in awe and WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

A first kick
One of the most precious moments of my pregnancy is certainly the moment when my baby gives that first "there will be no doubt you feel this one" kick.
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when Benjamin kicked me. And Baby Leonardo made a lasting impression as well. :)
Although I have been feeling Baby move and "bubble" and "flutter" for some time now, on a wonderful family weekend in February we had sat down for a big dinner following a beautiful day. Papa had grilled some delicious hamburgers and we were enjoying our little family around the dinner table.
In an amazingly fitting way Baby Leonardo decided to boot Mama right in the middle of dinner....making it VERY clear that there will be no doubt when Baby wants to participate in our family conversations, even in utero. :)
Mama had perma grin for hours. I love you more than you even know little one!! And I am so proud of those beautiful muscles you're growing! Keep those kicks coming!!

Airport security...Hah! No match for Baby Leonardo
We all have heard the recent rumblings about issues with TSA. Well, TSA is apparently no match for a baby belly. If you're looking for speedy movement through the security lines and complete avoidance of the spinning, air puffing, bomb sniffing machines they now have you stand in, look no further than a little baby belly.
On my recent travel (both to and from) I quietly moved through the security line just like everyone else...loading my bags, shoes, etc. in to the machine. But when I turned to the aggressive TSA officials guiding people rapidly through the alien-ship looking machines I was quickly received with, and I quote, "Wow, you're pregnant...you can just go over there" or "Are you pregnant? You don't need to go through that thing...just go around"
I wondered first if it was a trick and if after following their directions I would soon be sitting naked in some side room being told I broke the law. But instead, I just walked through. There's no messing with a baby belly.
Advantages and perks even at the ripe old age of 19 weeks...that's my Baby! :)
